When the Severn estuary is at low tide mysteries of the past are revealed. Getting muddy is obligatory if you want to access shards or morsels of history. What started with a family dog walk is now turning into an obsession!
So far we have found lots of pottery and glass with a few bits of iron and bone thrown in the mix. Finding what looks like pretty old fishing hurdles is pretty exciting also.
All of the finds are at least 10 - 25 meters or more beyond the tide line due to the massive total range of the estuary.
